Welcome to a Dark Place (Death/Doom/Black/Grindcore Metal Guide)

This site is created for mostly those of you who are interested in getting into the most exciting thing of the twentieth century - death, death-doom, death-grindcore and death-black metal. This page is not for profies who has been in for many years and know a hell lot of information about the matter, but mostly for those who is only trying to find his own way in this dark yet awesome world of extreme forms of metal. We have been in for several years to get at least some vision of it and currently want to share our thoughts with you. Below we will list the best (well, from our point of view) not to say famous bands and albums worth to be tried for. Of course there is still more left aside simply because there is no way to measure the unmeasurable. We can only promise that there will be constant updates as we discover more and more jewels along the dim and endless road into the shades of history.

Surfing the Internet, you'll probably find god damn lots of sites dedicated to the extreme forms of metal such as death, doom, black, grindcore and their likes. Nonetheless, 99% of them will offer you best purchases of albums from some lists without any additional information (not a bad trend in general but which tends to be very annoying when you look for information only and not intend to buy something), or provide you with a mountain of links half of which don't work at all, or just present some stupid promotions for some band from some fans, etc. In other words there is a substantial lack of general information on death, doom, black, and grindcore metal, especially for novices or just those who would like to know more. Taking into account the vast amount of crap out there, we've decided to make our humble contribution into this scarcity.

The structure of this site is very simple. We hope you'll be glad not to bother with waiting till many stupid pictures are loaded and all that other mellow stuff. We concentrate on informational content here, not visual presentation. Of course, we're not gonna push you to our vision of the matter, nor give you a comprehensive list of reviews and links. Some but not many links you will find here are just to help you understand what is on the Death side of the Net, mostly those links which we use heavily or find useful because of the information presented.

The Brief History page is just a simple overview of how things happened and went so far away. The Description of Styles category is the core of the whole site. Here you will find our general vision of each style and sub-style (aka brutal death and grindcore, death/doom, or black with deathish influences, etc.) as well as lists of bands with short comments, their best albums, and links to samples and lyrics (all lyrics are local to the site!). The Bands Asylum page provides you with the alphabetical listing of all bands presented here with quick links to the corresponding sections in Description of Styles or straight to the lyrics pages. The Good Sources of Info page will give you several links we find invaluable for future elaborations in death, death/doom, death/black, and death/grindcore types of metal. Two last small sections are just to supply you with our personal info (the last thing you might want to read :-)) ).
